What this is, and what's to come

  • This newsletter is written by me, Daniel. I work in publishing and read a lot of books — mainly fantasy, speculative fiction, LGBTQ+, and “literary” titles in an attempt to keep up with my colleagues. I’m from California but currently live in NYC.

• What

  • I’ve been logging books on Goodreads and on Instagram for a long time, but am trying something new here. This newsletter is called Gormenghastly because, well, it sounds cool — and the Gormenghast novels are generally my Platonic ideal when it comes to tone and setting in novels. (And yeah, they’re underrated classics, but don’t just take my word for it.)
